The sure sign of an amateur is he has a million plans and they all start tomorrow.”

―Steven Pressfield

Greetings,

Welcome to this week's Advisor Training newsletter. Our goal is to provide training, education and insights for solo/independent Advisors who adhere to our client-first, counter-cultural, and sometimes counter-intuitive investment and business philosophy.

If you're not yet part of our AdvisorFirst Group but you'd like to learn more, you can schedule a chat with me.
  • Main event: Tom’s VA Client Case Study #2
  • Following-Up After Being 'Ghosted'
  • My Most Influential Business Book
  • Nick Murray on VAs and Fiduciary
  • Pausing AMF Drafts
  • and much more...
This is an example of the power of using a variable annuity and because there is an income rider the client was able to invest very aggressively.

The account grew from $180k to $322k in just 36 months and it locked-in the income at that number!

THIS WEEK'S PRO-TIP
Question from an Advisor

"I find it off-putting to ask clients for referrals so I won't do it. But, I want to grow my business."

  1. Get 50 custom thank you notes. Visit AFW S.8.16.
  2. Send out one handwritten thank you note a day. Visit AFW P.2.
  3. Send them to CPAs, estate attorneys, clients, past clients, friend from church who asked you about Social Security tax last week, and anyone else you deal with in business, or have in the past.
  4. Reflect for a moment before you write the note. Say something thoughtful and overwhelmingly positive. People can always tell when you sincerely care about them.
  5. Make a note in your CRM system and wait for them to call. But while you are waiting, repeat this process the next week.
